How It All Started

The story of Lone Star Rodeo began in Marfa, Texas, when Preston Fowlkes, Sr. founded his first rodeo with a vision to bring the cowboy’s lifestyle and rodeo action directly to fans. In 1949, after moving to Franklin, Tennessee, he launched the first Lone Star Rodeo, which quickly gained recognition for its authentic displays of skill and spirit.

His dedication to rodeo and commitment to excellence paved the way for a family legacy that continues to thrive. Today, Preston Fowlkes, Jr., along with the entire Fowlkes family, carries on his father’s legacy with a dedication to bringing the same excitement and authenticity to audiences across the United States.
